Make Poverty History—For Kids
(UK) You will all by now heard of the forthcoming Live8 concerts in support of the Make Poverty History Campaign—well now the campaign is specifically targeting kids to get involved.
In collaboration with AtticMedia a website has been launched to encourage young people to join the campaign to tackle global poverty.
The new Send My Friend to School (SMF2S) Challenge gives young people a chance to Speak Up for more than 100 million children around the world who are not in school.
A 'buddy' is a representation of a child who is missing out on school. Buddies can be made online but they can also be made on paper and sent in to the 'Buddy Hotel'. The aim is to make 1 million buddies worldwide.
Schools can send their paper buddies to the 'Buddy Hotel', or submit one to the Buddy Gallery from where they will travel to the G8 meeting in Scotland in July to be handed to world leaders.
