Brand Beckham
(World) David Beckham is a global superstar and has a profile and bank balance to match the biggest of Hollywood stars, although, his latest venture has a definite philanthropic flavour. The David Beckham Football Academy has a site in Greenwich, London and also one in Carson. California.
The academies will take about 15,000 boys and girls a year (10,000 free), aged 8 to 15 and is an obvious replica of the Bobby Charlton Soccer School which Beckham attended as a teen.
"This academy doesn't mean the end of my career, I have got four or five years left, but this is the future for me, this is what I want to do - what I want to achieve. I never dreamed it was going to be as big as this and of course I want to open more around the world - as many as possible."
