Voices Of Hope
(World) Voices of hope: adolescents and the tsunami is a publication highlighting the comments young people made on UNICEF's Voices of Youth website immediately after the tsunami in December 2004. The paper argues that there is an urgent need for children's participation in complex humanitarian crises to be recognised and to engage with them as key partners.
The paper presents how young people mobilised, helped to distribute aid, assisted with clean-up and rebuilding, and cared for those younger than themselves soon after the tsunami.
