Romance Academy
(UK) I just finished watching a BBC2 programme called No Sex Please, We're Teenagers where 12 young people attended the 'Romance Academy' and made a pledge to abstain from sexual antics for four months. During that time they committed to join a group that would challenge them to examine their views on sex, relationships and life.
The scheme was run by two Christian youth workers, however, it was not a religious recruitment drive—this was a holistic and challenging scheme which really did have a vast positive impact on the young people involved. The end sequence where each young person 'graduated' and talked about their time and what they have learnt really did move me. The emotional maturity they communicated was really impressive.
PLUS the scheme is open to sponsors…
