The Unteachables
(UK) I hated school. Never could get with the notion that sitting behind a desk for 6 hours everyday being bawked at would come to anything. Most lessons held very little interest for me and don't get me started on the teachers and their methods…
Now learning punctuation through Kung Fu would have turned me on. Participating in a meditation session to chill out would've also been great. These are some of the new teaching techniques adopted by Phil Beadle in the Channel 4 series 'The Unteachables', where 12 challenging young people are taking out of school and placed on this intensive and progressive education course.
Watching Phil last night engage and connect with these young people pretty much straight away through simple techniques made a fantastic case for the review of the whole methods of teaching. Will definitely be watching next week…
Channel 4 are now running a complimentary campaign to get a counsellor in every school—see here.
