Publisher Helps NOLA Youth Book
(US) All of us were touched in some way viewing the devastation of New Orleans after hurricane Katrina hit—(on a personal note, New Orleans is my favourite city I've ever visited and really hope it can return to what I fell in love with).
The Neighborhood Story Project was started last year in New Orleans as a way for students to write about where and how they live. The success and demand of their first 5 books meant they were set to be republished but then the hurricane hit.
Independent publishers Soft Skull (based in New York) have agreed to pick up the cost and print the books, ensuring the stories will be available.
