Scottish Schools Gets Guidance
(SCO) Guidelines have been drawn up for Scottish schools to 'stop inappropriate commercial activity'. This is about curbing aggressive advertising and commercial sponsorships which would be seen to have a negative effect on the students.
They are however, not statutory and Graham Millar, the chairman of the Scottish Consumer Council, said:
It is sponsored and supported by both the public and private sector and if schools want to ignore these guidelines then parents should be asking serious questions about the heads of schools.
